William G. Obana, M.D.

Lumbar Spine Surgery
Dr. Obana is a board-certified neurosurgeon who specializes in minimally invasive outpatient cervical and lumbar surgery. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford University and M.D. degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco in 1993 and has been practicing neurosurgery in Honolulu since then.
He is Clinical Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Neurosurgery at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. He has authored or coauthored over 25 book chapters and journal articles in neurosurgery. He has served on the Hawaii State Medical Board and Board of Trustees of The Queen’s Health Systems and The Queen’s Medical Center.
He has performed thousands of outpatient cervical and lumbar spine surgeries to reduce pain and restore neurological function in patients with neck and low back problems.
